A presentation by Dr Tim Smith (Wealden Iron Research Group) – During the middle ages, the iron industry of Britain was clustered around the Weald of Southern England stretching from Kent to Surrey.   This paper examines the technology and businesses behind the Wealden iron industry and discusses experiments to replicate their furnace practices.
